Welcome to the Cape Football Dream Foundation
As active coaches and football enthusiasts involved in grassroots football, we’ve seen too many young players sidelined—not for lack of skill or passion, but because they simply cannot afford the costs associated with playing league or formal soccer. Registration fees, transport, gear, and other essentials become barriers that shut out those who need the game the most.
It’s incredibly difficult to watch a child with passion or full of potential walk away from an opportunity simply because of financial constraints. Yet it’s often these children who need it the most. Football supports their well-being, teaches vital life skills, fosters teamwork and a sense of belonging, and helps protect them from social risks.
Over the years, we’ve personally funded many players and rallied support from kind-hearted individuals. But these efforts, while heartfelt, can only reach a handful.
To scale our impact, we are in the process of registering as an NPO with the Department of Social Development and have already submitted the necesary documentation for registration. This process takes approximately 6 – 8 weeks. All donations currently go toward Player Funding / Assistance Initiatives, and we will update donors once registration is complete.
Our focused intention is “Advancing inclusivity and equal opportunity through strategic funding, ensuring that no player is excluded from formal football due to their financial circumstances.”
The main objectives of the organisation are to:
- Identify and support young soccer players from underprivileged communities in South Africa.
- Provide financial assistance to players
- Partner with schools, communities, and sports organisations to build sustainable pathways for youth athletes to progress into local club and professional sport.
- Ensure inclusivity and equal opportunity, with particular emphasis on youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with limited access to sporting infrastructure and funding.
- Promote holistic personal development
- Facilitate access and exposure to scouting networks, development academies, and professional clubs both locally and internationally.
